Couples therapy is an effective experience that can develop communication, intimacy, security and relationship skills. Relationship troubles are usually rooted in two people triggering each other’s core issues. Through couple’s therapy, closeness can be improved and there can be an increase in the couple’s intimacy and overall satisfaction. I also work with couples that are wondering if they should stay together after trust has been broken. I can help a couple heal their old wounds.
Another area of my expertise is premarital counseling. I can help you develop communication skills to talk about the difficult issues such as money, sex and children. I help couples know what marriage may be like by talking about long-term goals.
Couples are generally seen weekly for 50 or 75-minute sessions. Couples work can also be a wonderful adjunct to individual psychotherapy.
